Obituary for Ira Milton Wellman
Ira Milton Wellman, 92, of Varney, WV passed away March 29, 2021 at his home. He was born January 24, 1929 in Shelbiana, KY. He was the son of the late Boliver Ezra and Mary Nettie Williamson Wellman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie June Varney Wellman, brother, Curtis Wellman and sisters, Pauline Meadows, Elsie Belcher, Marie Williams, Virginia Wellman and Opal Wellman.
Mr. Wellman spent more than 20 years in the military. He retired from the US Airforce. He loved his family and being a dad. His children and grandchildren were very precious to him.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his children, son, Ira Timothy and wife Kathy Wellman and their son, Brian Wellman and wife, Crystal and their children, Taylor and Tucker, daughter, Barbara Jean Wellman and her son Bob Mason Buckner II and Trish, daughter, Katherine Elaine Ramey and her husband Ike, their children, Lilly, Mason and Elliott, daughter, Linda Wellman Williams and her son, Daniel Williams and his wife Becky and children, Lacye, Chase and Everly, her son, Joshua Williams and wife, Racheal and their children, Ethan, Hailey, Serinity, Rileigh and Logan and her daughter, Stephanie Maynard and her companion Destry Peck and her their children, Kean, Kaydence and Destry III. He also has one sister, Mildred Hammond of Varney, WV.
Funeral services will be held at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday April 1, 2021 at 1:00pm with Rev. Brian Wellman officiating. Burial will follow in the Varney Cemetery at Varney, WV. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6-9pm. Online condolences can be made at ChafinFuneralHome.Com. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
